Maxim Ryzhkov appointed CEO of Allianz Trade in China

Maxim Ryzhkov has been appointed as CEO of Allianz Trade in China, effective 1 January 2023.

new-allianz-logoAccording to the firm, Ryzhkov will be leading Allianz Trade in one of the largest and fastest-growing markets in the Asia Pacific region.

Before this appointment, Ryzhkov was Commercial Director for Allianz Trade in Nordic, overseeing the commercial portfolio for Nordic and Baltic countries since 2018.

For the new role, he will be based in Shanghai and report to the Regional CEO of Allianz Trade in Asia Pacific, Paul Flanagan.

Ryzhkov joined Allianz Trade in 2013 as Commercial Director and Deputy General Manager responsible for all commercial activities in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries.

Prior to Allianz Trade, he held various management positions in the banking and finance sector in Canada and Russia. In addition, he holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge Judge Business School.

Ryzhkov commented on his appointment, stating, “I am very honoured to be appointed as China CEO and I am very grateful for the fruitful and fascinating years I had spent with the Northern Europe teams.

“Together with my new team, I look forward to continue to promote the Allianz Trade brand, help our customers to sustain long-term business growth and mitigate the risks arising from the future economic disturbances.”

Mr Flanagan speaks on this senior appointment, “China is the biggest piece of puzzle in our Asia Pacific region and I am very pleased that we have just the right person to help drive it going forward.
