Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets has announced the appointment of Robert McAdams as Group Chief Underwriting Officer, effective 1 October 2026.
McAdams will be succeeding Dominick Hoare, incumbent Group Chief Underwriting Officer, and will be responsible for leading the Global Markets Underwriting Office.
To ensure a smooth transition, Hoare will continue in his role as Active Underwriter for Munich Re Syndicate and hold this position until a qualified successor is appointed and regulatory approval is granted.
Since 2023, Rob has successfully led the Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets Marine, Engineering and Special Risks underwriting teams.
He joined the company following a two-year tenure at Munich Re Syndicate Limited, where he served as Head of Marine. Prior to that he served as Chief Underwriting Officer Global Marine at AXA XL, and spent six years at in senior underwriting roles at XL Catlin (prior to its acquisition by AXA)
