Specialist insurer, Beazley, has appointed industry veteran Michèle Horner as Country Manager for France and Monaco, where she will be based in Paris, effective immediately.
In the role, Horner will be expected to focus on developing Beazley’s business in France, while also retaining her current role within the Distribution Team as Partner Engagement Manager for France.
Overall, she brings more than 15 years of experience from working in the French market towards her new role, two of which has been whilst working at Beazley, where she has led the French broker distribution operations.
Moreover, during this time, she has played a significant role in strengthening the organisations engagement strategies in France, as well as building a robust network of broker partners and clients.
Before she joined Beazley, Horner worked with a variety of international brands, supporting them as they expanded into European markets.
Horner played a key role in the launch of Christie & Co’s first international office in Paris, developing its French hotel business before later going on to join both the French and Group boards.
Throughout her career, Horner has served in several key positions, including previous stints as Commercial Director at GEA Assurances and Affinity Development Director at Add Value Assurances, part of the Acturis Group.
“We have built strong foundations with a fantastic team in the French market, developing valuable partnerships with our brokers and customers. As we move into the next phase of our expansion in Europe, I am excited to continue working with our partners, growing together and providing specialist solutions and expertise to an evolving and dynamic market,” said Horner.
“Our clients are navigating an increasingly complex world and in creating the role of Country Manager, we are further demonstrating our commitment to building our presence in Europe to better serve and support our clients. Michèle will be a central point of contact in France, developing and strengthening our relationships with partners, regulators and clients, while ensuring that our colleagues have the tools they need to develop their own strategic relationships,” commented Fred Kleiterp, Managing Director for Europe.
Adding: “It is clear through her achievements, expertise, and market reputation, that she has the experience to effectively lead the team in France, drive business development, and help grow our capabilities in Europe.”
Earlier this month, Beazley announced the appointment of Sam Franks as Country Manager, UK & Ireland.
