MNK Re, an independent broker of specialist risks into Lloyd’s, has hired industry veteran Simon Ashby as Executive Managing Director and Global Chief Commercial Officer.
In the role, Ashby is expected to hold responsibility for driving a number of different projects and revenue growth initiatives for the broker, as MNK Re looks to expand its presence across the globe, particularly in North America.
Overall, Ashby has nearly four decades of experience across the insurance and reinsurance sector, having previously held senior management roles in both broking and underwriting.
This includes over a decade of service in Bermuda, where he served as Managing Director of Marsh FINPRO Bermuda.
He also gained valuable experience in London, where he previously held the role of Managing Director and CUO of Gulf Insurance Company UK Ltd., part of the Travelers Group and CEO of Willis Global Solutions International.
Most recently, Ashby was co-founder and Active Underwriter of Verto Lloyds Syndicate 2689.
