Moody’s, a data, intelligence and analytical tools provider, has announced the integration of the newly launched Oasis Software as a Service Limited (Oasis SaaS) into its Intelligent Risk Platform (IRP).
This collaboration aims to provide re/insurers and brokers with a unified, vendor-neutral environment for catastrophe modelling, addressing the industry’s growing need for independent model choice and operational efficiency.
The integration follows the launch of Oasis SaaS, an industry-owned and vendor-neutral platform designed to protect the catastrophe market from consolidation and acquisition risks.
“Moody’s vision of an open-modelling ecosystem is not new, as just over two years ago, we announced our commitment to open and unified modelling on the Intelligent Risk Platform,” Moody’s Derek Neal, Associate Director – Product Management, Software and Applications, stated.
Adding: “We believe that bringing together all Moody’s RMS models: Aggregated Loss Models (ALM), Detailed Loss Models (DLM), and High-Definition Models (HD), with Oasis models, and firms’ home-grown models, within a unified modelling experience, will unlock tremendous value to our clients.”
By connecting the IRP with Oasis SaaS, Moody’s users can now access over 300 Oasis-based models alongside over 400 Moody’s RMS models with a single, streamlined workflow.
The collaboration leverages Moody’s Open Modelling Engine (OME) to bridge the gap between different modelling ecosystems. Key highlights include:
Unified Access: Users can execute models from various providers—including ARA, Fathom, JBA Risk Management, and Impact Forecasting—directly through IRP applications like Risk Modeler™, UnderwriteIQ™, and TreatyIQ™.
Operational Efficiency: The integration eliminates the need for manual data conversion between different exposure and loss formats. This allows modelling teams to focus on risk analysis rather than IT infrastructure management.
Enhanced Data Management: Modelled outputs from Oasis SaaS are available within the Moody’s Risk Data Lake, enabling advanced analytics, automated backups via Data Vault™, and secure peer-to-peer data sharing through Risk Data Exchange.
Independence and Resilience: Built on Amazon Web Services (AWS), the Oasis SaaS platform ensures a scalable, vendor-neutral environment that remains immune to the risks of market consolidation.
