Moonrock Insurance, a specialist managing general agent (MGA) providing insurance solutions for unmanned aviation, drones and advanced air mobility, has appointed Alex Seymour as Senior Underwriter as the company continues to broaden its underwriting capabilities and support its international growth strategy.

Seymour brings more than 30 years of experience in aviation insurance underwriting, having worked across both company and Lloyd’s markets throughout his career.

He joins Moonrock Insurance with extensive experience managing complex aviation portfolios on a global scale and developing long-term relationships with brokers and clients across the industry.

Seymour has previously held senior underwriting positions with Nexus, Marsh, Brit Global Specialty, QBE and Allianz. During his career, he has contributed to the development of international aviation portfolios and supported the expansion of established underwriting operations.

His expertise spans the general aviation market, including both fixed-wing and rotor-wing risks, and he is recognised for his technical knowledge and underwriting experience.

Announcing the appointment, Moonrock Insurance Managing Director Simon Ritterband commented: “Moonrock’s ambition is clear, we are building a world-class unmanned aviation underwriting platform. Alex is a major addition to that journey. He’s widely respected across the market and brings the experience, judgment and relationships that materially strengthen our offering as we scale globally.”

Commenting on his move to Moonrock Insurance, Seymour added: “I’m delighted to be joining Moonrock at such an exciting stage of its growth. The business has built a strong reputation for specialist underwriting and innovation in aviation and emerging technologies, and I look forward to contributing to its continued success.”

Moonrock Insurance stated that the appointment reflects its continued focus on attracting experienced underwriting professionals as it develops its specialist offering in the unmanned aviation, drone and advanced air mobility sectors. The company said the addition of Seymour further strengthens its underwriting expertise as it continues to grow its presence in international markets.
