MS Amlin announces new appointments to underwriting leadership team

Lloyd’s global re/insurer, MS Amlin has announced it is strengthening its underwriting leadership team with new appointments within the division.

ms-amlin-logoGrant Baxter has been appointed Interim CUO, effective 1st January 2023, in addition to his reinsurance responsibilities. He joined the business at the end of December 2022 as Head of Reinsurance, and will be part of MS Amlin’s Executive Committee.

Baxter will report to Andrew Carrier, whose appointment as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) was announced back in October 2022. He is currently serving as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) and will take up the role in January 2023.

Neil Walker, currently Head of Underwriting Transformation, has been appointed Co-Deputy CUO and Head of Specialty Insurance. Walker assumes responsibility for Marine, Casualty, Natural Resources, and Crisis Management insurance lines.

MS Amlin’s current Head of Property and Allied Lines, will also become Co-Deputy CUO, alongside his existing responsibilities for Property and Auto insurance product lines. Both Neil and Sam will report into Grant Baxter.
