MS Reinsurance (MS Re), a Switzerland-domiciled global reinsurer, has announced the appointment of Lutz Honstetter as Chief Investment Officer (CIO).
In his new role, Honstetter will be responsible for shaping the company’s long-term investment strategy. Based in Zurich, he will report directly to Robert Wiest, Chief Executive Officer of MS Re, and will be a member of the Leadership Team.
Honstetter brings more than 25 years of international experience in asset management across the insurance, pension, and banking sectors.
Prior to joining MS Re, he held a number of senior investment leadership roles at Zurich Insurance Group, including Chief Investment Officer Germany, and served as a member of the Executive Committee. Most recently, he was Group Investment Management – Strategy Implementation Advisory at Zurich Insurance.
Earlier in his career, he held a regional senior leadership role at Axa-Winterthur in Asia, as well as positions at PwC and Winterthur Group.
