MS Reinsurance has announced the appointments of Marcus Pollak as Head of Underwriting Operations, Benedikt Schmid as Chief Information and Data Officer, Susanne Gnädinger as Chief Transformation Officer, and Stefan Behr as Head of EMEA Group Clients, International Casualty and Engineering.
Marcus Pollak joined as Head of Underwriting Operations on 1 February 2023 and now reports to Grégoire Mauchamp, Chief Technical Underwriting Officer.
In the new role, he is tasked with leading the Underwriting Operations team and supporting an array of products and processes globally.
Pollak most recently worked at Axis Re where he led the Global Underwriting Support team.
MS Reinsurance states that he brings strong technical qualifications with a successful track record in senior leadership positions.
Meanwhile, Benedikt Schmid joined as Chief Information and Data Officer on 1 February 2023 and now reports to Chief Executive Officer, Robert Wiest.
Schmid has almost two and a half decades of experience in the reinsurance industry and also joins from Axis Re, where he was previously Chief Information Officer.
Schmid will lead the implementation of MS Reinsurance’s IT strategy, aimed at improving the use of data and technology to support the business.
Susanne Gnädinger, who joined as Chief Transformation Officer on 1 November 2022 and also reports to Robert Wiest, will spearhead the recently-rebranded business’ modernisation journey.
Gnädinger joined MS from Partner Re, where she spent 17 years developing deep expertise in business processes, systems design, and integrating new technologies for reinsurance.
Stefan Behr will join MS Reinsurance On 1 March 2023 as Head of EMEA Group Clients, International Casualty and Engineering. He will report to Jörg Bruniecki, Chief Underwriting Officer EMEA.
MS Reinsurance states that Behr brings a blend of business development, client management, and underwriting experience, joining the firm from Swiss Re where he most recently was the Head of Business Development EMEA.
