Munich Re America has announced the appointment of Jean Vernor to the newly created position of Head of Incubator, New Strategic Markets.
Vernor will now be responsible for overseeing Munich Re’s U.S Innovation Lab and business domains focusing on emerging risks, as well as for driving the execution and launch of new business opportunities.
She joins Munich Re from MetLife, where she served as Senior Vice President, Innovation Hub and Direct-to-Consumer Business since 2014, and was responsible for product management, underwriting, strategy, operations, distribution, and for leading strategic pilots for the U.S business.
In her new role, she will report to Jill Beggs, Head of New Strategic Markets at Munich Re America, who commented: “Jean’s forward thinking mindset and openness to new ways of working in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape will complement Munich Re’s strategic focus on innovation.
“As an intrapreneur and business leader, she brings extensive experience in business transformation and growth. Her knowledge, expertise and creativity will make her a strong contributor to our team.”
Vernor’s career also includes roles as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a mid-sized company, as Senior Vice President of Marketing for the membership division of CPP North America, and as division head at General Electric, where she led an innovative growth initiative.
