Global reinsurer Munich Re has appointed Bob Algie as Property, Construction & Engineering Manager at Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets, Australia, effective in the second half of 2026.
In his new role, Algie will lead the establishment of the Property, Construction and Engineering underwriting team.
He brings more than two decades of experience in property product management across local and international insurers and underwriting agencies, with a strong track record of delivering commercial and portfolio outcomes.
Algie joins Munich Re Specialty from QBE Insurance, where he most recently served as Head of Property, Energy and Marine.
Prior to that, he was Head of Industry Verticals – Property, Liability and Fleet, and Interim Head of Underwriting – Marine & Logistics at QBE.
