American Modern Insurance Group, Inc., a specialist insurance provider and part of Munich Re, has confirmed that Eric Hunziker has taken on the position of Chief Digital and Operating Officer (CDOO), replacing Paul Schneider, who is set to retire at the end of the year.
Hunziker has accumulated over 30 years of leadership experience with the company and has served as Chief Claims Officer since 2019.
“Throughout his career at American Modern, Eric has successfully led large-scale transformation initiatives that enhanced customer experience, streamlined operations, and embedded a culture of compliance and data-driven decision-making,” added Andreas Kleiner, President and CEO. “Eric embodies the leadership, innovation, and executional rigor required for this critical role.”
Hunziker joined American Modern in 1994 as a staff adjuster in Texas before progressing into various management and director roles within the claims division. In 2015, he moved into producer management, where he led a major data initiative to support an organisation-wide transformation effort and broadened the use of robotic process automation to boost operational efficiency.
The company also stated that Bob Crowley, Vice President of Field Claims, will temporarily lead the claims organisation. A permanent Chief Claims Officer is expected to be appointed in early 2026.
