Mutual Reinsurance Bureau selects new President & CEO

Mutual Reinsurance Bureau’s (MRB) Board of Directors has announced that John W. Meyers III will replace Timothy Dorr as the firm’s next President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

John MeyersMeyers joins the company from Safety National Reinsurance, where he most recently served as Vice President of Treaty Underwriting. He replaces Dorr, who is to retire from the company next year.

Commenting on the transition, Dorr said; “I am delighted that John has agreed to join us and lead MRB into our second century of providing the best in security and service to our clients. I look forward to working closely with him in the coming months as we execute a smooth and seamless transition.”

Meyers brings over 25 years of industry experience to the role, holding positions at Maiden Reinsurance and PMA Reinsurance, as well as the aforementioned Safety National Reinsurance.

He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve for eight years, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from LaSalle University and a Master of Business Administration in Risk Management from Olivet College.

The search for a new President and CEO at MRB was conducted by The Jacobson Group, and the company’s Managing Partner that led the engagement, Margaret Resce Milkint, commented; “John’s appointment as president & CEO marks an exciting new chapter in MRB’s history and growth agenda.
