Prism, the recently launched managing general agent (MGA) backed by Convex and Efinity Insurance Solutions, has appointed Luca Ronsisvalle as Head of Marine Cargo, and Jan von Kamp as Head of Energy, Power and Renewables.

Both will report directly to Bobby Heerasing, Chief Executive Officer & Chief Underwriting Officer of Prism, who commented, “I am delighted to welcome both Luca and Jan to the team to drive forward our core lines of business as we start our underwriting journey in 2026 and beyond.

“Together, Luca and Jan bring substantial industry and insurance experience to Prism, and their appointments are a testament to our ambitions as we set out to build a leading multi-class MGA in the Asia Pacific and beyond.

“Their technical appreciation of the marine and energy industry and its associated risks will enable us to provide excellent service to our clients and grow the business at the appropriate time.

“Luca and Jan will be critical enablers towards building a sustainable business through profitable growth, talent development, strengthening relationships with key trading partners and an unwavering commitment to adding value for our clients.”

Luca Ronsisvalle holds over 25 years of marine insurance experience and joins from AXA XL, where he was most recently Head of Marine Cargo for South-East Asia.

He has previously held senior underwriting and leadership positions in international marine markets, with deep knowledge across Cargo, War, and Marine Liability lines.

Ronsisvalle noted, “I’m excited to lead Prism’s Marine Cargo offering at a time when supply-chain complexity, geopolitical risk and the energy transition are reshaping the risk landscape across Asia Pacific.

“Our ambition is to combine disciplined, creative underwriting with best-in-class service and technology to become the go-to MGA partner for brokers and clients in this space.”

Meanwhile, Jan von Kamp has over 20 years of experience in the Energy sector and joins from Swiss Re Asia Ltd, where he served as Head – Property Facultative Southeast Asia and India.

He has also previously held the position of Head, Energy, Facultative & Specialty at Asia Capital Re and senior energy underwriting roles with HDI Global in Singapore and Europe.

von Kamp said, “Energy and power clients in Asia Pacific are evolving rapidly as they face new challenges and transition toward more sustainable business models.

“We must innovate alongside them. I’m excited to partner with our brokers to help clients navigate this fast-changing landscape.”
