Nexus Underwriting, an Arrowhead Intermediaries company, has announced the appointment of Walid Youssef as Head of UK Financial Institutions.
In his new role, Youssef will manage Nexus’s UK Financial Institutions portfolio and drive the line’s strategy. He will report directly to Joanne Edgley, UK Head of Financial Lines at Nexus.
He joins Nexus from Lockton, where he served as Senior Vice President within the global Financial Institutions team.
Prior to that, he spent over four years at Travelers Europe, most recently as Head of Financial Institutions. He was also Vice President at Marsh, advocating insurance solutions for a range of financial institutions.
Edgley commented, “We are delighted to welcome Walid to our Financial Institutions team, which has been a core pillar for Nexus since our founding. His leadership will be integral to the growth in this area, where we are widely seen as the preferred market for both financial institution brokers and policyholders.”
Youssef’s appointment reflects Nexus’s ongoing investment in specialist talent as the firm continues to grow and follows three other recent underwriting appointments in this division. These additions include Sam Meehan as Head of Underwriting Development, Scott Walker as Senior Underwriter, and Harry Risby, who joined the Financial Institutions team as an underwriter in February 2026.
