Nexus Underwriting Limitedm, part of Arrowhead Intermediaries, has confirmed the appointment of Chris Bailey as Head of Regional Underwriting Development – Financial Lines.
The company said the appointment forms part of its ongoing strengthening of its financial lines capability. Bailey will be based in Manchester. The move follows Nexus Underwriting’s recent appointment of Walid Youssef as Head of UK Financial Institutions in March.
Bailey has over 25 years of experience in financial lines underwriting. Nexus Underwriting noted his background in leading underwriting teams and supporting their performance, alongside his long-standing work developing broker relationships across the UK insurance market.
His role will support further development of Nexus Underwriting’s management liability proposition within its broader financial lines strategy.
He joins Nexus Underwriting from AXA, where he held the position of Management Liability Underwriting Manager. He has also held senior regional underwriting roles at AXA XL, Chubb, AIG, Travelers and RSA.
At Nexus Underwriting, he will work closely with Tom Jordan, Head of Management Liability, to support continued growth across financial lines and to help shape a management liability offering that complements the firm’s professional indemnity and financial institutions specialisms.
Jo Edgley, UK Head of Financial Lines at Nexus Underwriting, commented: “Chris’ technical knowledge, leadership capability and experience in the UK regional financial lines market further enhance the depth and capability of our underwriting team. Following several key appointments recently, Chris’ appointment reflects our commitment to continued investment in our regional services for UK brokers and their customers. I am very excited to welcome Chris to the team!”
Bailey added: “I am delighted to be joining Nexus at such an exciting point in its growth. Nexus has a strong reputation for underwriting excellence and broker relationships, and I look forward to working with Tom and the wider team to further develop a compelling management liability and financial lines offering across the UK.”
