OpenDoor’s Susan Estes joins AkinovA’s Advisory Board

AkinovA, the electronic marketplace for the transfer and trading of insurance risk, has announced that Susan Estes, Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the OpenDoor bond trading platform, has joined its Advisory Board.

susan-estesWith over 30 years’ experience on Wall Street, Estes has expertise in the global fixed income markets and evolving FinTech landscape, and became the first woman to own and operate a bond trading platform after she launched OpenDoor in 2015.

Estes has previously served as a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, and Countrywide Securities, and was also Founder and CEO of Arch Pacific.

Additionally, she has held positions on the Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee (TBAC) under both Secretary’s Paulson and Snow, and has served as a Member of the Board of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) and as Chair of the Government and Agency Division of the Bond Market Association (now SIFMA).

As an advisor to AkinovA, Estes will primarily focus on assisting the growth and development of the AkinovA marketplace, as well as identifying and addressing marketplace pain points and driving liquidity.

She joins fellow Advisory Board members Charles Bralver and Erik Jansen, who are based near New York.

Bralver is a founding Partner and former Vice Chairman of consulting firm Oliver, Wyman & Co., and has prior experience advising investment banks, asset managers, exchanges, and other market utilities. He is also focused on the development of the AkinovA marketplace, as well as on growing connectivity across the financial services and re/insurance industries.

Jansen is a Co-Founder of the venture capital arm of Pequot Capital and has previous experience investing in and building technology companies and electronic marketplaces. He will focus on the growth and development of the AkinovA marketplace and on capitalisation approaches.
