Orchid Underwriters Agency, LLC (Orchid Insurance), a specialty underwriter of catastrophe exposed property insurance, has announced the appointment of Katherine Cody as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Cody joins Orchid from Farmers Insurance Group, where she has worked for the previous 10 years, most recently as COO for Personal Lines.
While at Farmers Insurance, she also led Personal Lines underwriting, finance and analytics, operations and strategy execution teams, in addition to serving as Chief Financial Officer for the life business.
In her new position, Cody will be responsible for driving the operational, functional and business areas of Orchid.

Cody will be required to work closely with Emmons and Orchid’s partner, TowerBrook Capital Partners, as they work to expand the business.
The role will also see her relocate from Los Angeles, CA to Orchid’s headquarters in Vero Beach, FL.
