Ortiz joins Gallagher’s global aerospace practice as US Head of Aerospace Claims

Insurance and reinsurance brokering group Gallagher has announced the appointment of Sherry J Ortiz as US Head of Aerospace Claims in its global aerospace practice, a role based in the US.

Ortiz is a qualified pilot with a proven track record managing complex litigation across major airline, manufacturing, and general aviation sectors. Her experience includes handling high-priority, intricate aviation cases.

She is joining Gallagher from the United States Aircraft Insurance Group (USAIG) where she was Senior Vice President, Senior Aviation Litigation Attorney.

She has also worked at Trope & Decarolis LLP and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in a career which spans 18 years.

In her new role at Gallagher, Ortiz will be reporting to Steve Lloyd, CEO of Aerospace for Gallagher in the US, who commented: “Sherry’s expertise as an innovative insurance executive, seasoned aviation attorney, and complex aviation subject matter expert – combined with her leadership and passion for excellence – align perfectly with our mission and the standards our clients expect from Gallagher.
