Life reinsurer Pacific Life Re has announced the appointment of Andrew Doran as head of underwriting and claims for its Asia office.
Based in Singapore, Doran reports to the managing director of Asian and Australian offices Andrew Gill.
He will lead the underwriting and claims team in Asia and ensure the delivery of services to Pacific Life Re’s clients in this region.
Doran has almost 20 years of experience in the life insurance industry, the majority of which has been spent in the UK, with stints across Singapore and Hong Kong.
In his previous role, he was responsible for leading a global life insurer’s underwriting strategy and spearheading its foray into the innovation space.
Commenting on his appointment, Doran said, “I am extremely excited to be joining Pacific Life Re and leading the underwriting and claims team in Asia.
“I’m proud to be part of an organisation with such a clear vision and strong values, and I look forward to working with the team to continue to grow its business across Asia.”
Gill added, “Andrew is an experienced life insurance practitioner and I am thrilled to welcome him to the Pacific Life Re team.
“Whilst the current COVID-19 situation is challenging, we remain focused in growing Pacific Life Re’s presence across Asia. Andrew’s appointment, in addition to other recent senior regional appointments, underlines our commitment to the Asia markets.”
