Pacific Life Re appoints Andrew Gill as MD of Australia, Asia units

Pacific Life Re has announced the appointment of Andrew Gill as Managing Director of the its Australia and Asia business units.

Andrew GillCurrently serving as Managing Director of Pacific Life Re Australia (as well as a member of the company’s global executive team) Gill has so far lead the Australian team to establish key partnerships with many of the leading Group and Retail insurers.

He also oversaw the introduction of the online comparison service UnderwriteMe to the Australian market.

Pacific Life Re and UnderwriteMe began collaborating last October on a system that combines text mining and machine learning techniques to process unstructured medical textual data, such as doctors’ reports on life and health insurance applicants and claimants.

Gill, who also serves as a member of Pacific Life Re’s global executive team, brings over 20 years’ experience in the life insurance industry, working in a variety of roles ranging from Appointed Actuary to business development and marketing across Australia and several locations worldwide.
