Life and health reinsurer, Pacific Life Re, has appointed Mikey Anthony to the newly created role of Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Sustainability.
Vincent Lepez, Executive Vice President of Europe and Head of Pacific Life Re’s ESG task force commented, “We’re delighted that Mikey decided to move back to the UK and lead this important role. It was critical we appointed someone who understood our business and had the skills and experience to be able work collaboratively across different territories.
“Mikey’s legal background will be particularly helpful regarding implementing climate regulation. We’re looking forward to the positive impact he’ll undoubtedly bring to our ESG initiatives.”
In this role, Anthony’s remit will include developing and managing the company’s environmental, social, and governance strategy to ensure key targets are met and Pacific Life Re complies with environmental regulations in the regions in which it operates.
Subsequently, he will work closely with the parent company, Pacific Life, and in particular with its corporate social responsibility task force and the Pacific Life Foundation.
Anthony’s expertise is diverse, having worked in quality assurance and legal and compliance across several countries in the Middle East, as well as America, and Australia.
He joined Pacific Life Re in 2021 as Legal Counsel and Company Secretary for Pacific Life Re and UnderwriteMe Australia.
Anthony added, “I’m a passionate advocate of sustainability and am delighted to have this opportunity to help drive forward the great work Pacific Life Re is already undertaking in this area.
“Working with the Pacific Life Foundation will also enable us to further expand our philanthropy programme.”
