Life reinsurer Pacific Life Re has announced the appointments of Wil Chong as General Manager, Asia Markets, Joanne Yeo as General Manager, Business Services and Operations, and Ong Qian Hao as new Head of Pricing, Asia.
All three appointments will report to Andrew Gill in his role of Managing Director, Asia and Australia.
As General Manager, Asia Markets, Chong is responsible for leading the Asia market heads in developing their growing businesses.
He has almost 30 years’ experience in re/insurance across Asia, Americas and Europe, has held several executive positions in Korea, China and Southeast Asia, and is a former board chairman of the Asia Actuarial Congress.
Most recently, Chong led the global life and health operations of a major reinsurer and was responsible for a portfolio of over €500m.
Yeo, meanwhile, will move from her existing role as Head of Pricing to lead the business services functions, including the financial reporting, R&D and operations teams of the Asia business unit.
And with Yeo undertaking a new role, Ong Qian Hao has been promoted to the Head of Pricing.
He most recently served as Director of Pricing for the Korea and Japan markets where he supported the significant growth for new business volumes.
