Pacific Life Re names Justin LaHood as Head of Tax

Life reinsurer Pacific Life Re has announced the appointment of Justin LaHood as its new Head of Tax.

Pacific Life ReBased in London, LaHood will be responsible for managing tax activities across Pacific Life Re globally, with a focus on strategy, coordination, and compliance.

He has more than 20 years’ experience as a tax professional both as an advisor and in-house, and has worked at a variety of insurance and reinsurance companies throughout his career.

LaHood joins Pacific Life Re from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was a Partner and Global Financial Services Tax Technology Leader; having previously held senior roles at AIG and Swiss Re.

“I am delighted to welcome Justin to Pacific Life Re, in what will be an essential role for the company’s future expansion,” said Court Post, Bermuda Chief Financial Officer at Pacific Life Re.

“The global tax landscape continues to get more complex and this new role allows us to tackle this challenge head on.”

LaHood also commented: “Pacific Life Re has experienced tremendous growth and expansion over the past few years and has reached a point where it can significantly benefit from a dedicated tax function. I am really excited to be joining the company in this newly created role and am looking forward to developing the company’s global tax strategy.”
