Specialty property insurer Palomar has expanded its underwriting and reinsurance teams with the addition of three additional personnel, including Ty Robben’s arrival from Great American as a Senior Vice President, Casualty Underwriting.
A 14 year veteran, Robben reports to Chief Underwriting Officer Jon Christianson and will spearhead the firm’s Casualty business.
Meanwhile, Gerrit VandeKemp joins as Vice President, Casualty Underwriting. He will support Robben in developing Palomar’s Casualty franchise by building out the Professional Lines underwriting practice.
VandeKemp spent eight years at CRC Group (CRC) where he served as Director, Professional Services Group.
While at CRC, he was responsible for a broad range of coverages including D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Crime, Kidnap & Ransom, Media Liability, Network Security & Privacy and Technology E&O
Chris Cebula joins as Senior Vice President within Reinsurance and will be responsible for the management and execution of Palomar’s risk transfer strategy.
He was previously a Portfolio Manager at Elementum Advisors, a Chicago-based alternative investment fund focused on natural catastrophe reinsurance.
