PartnerRe begins wearable tech project with digital health platform dacadoo

Bermudian reinsurer PartnerRe has announced the launch of its wearable technology pilot project, which it is running in partnership with dacadoo, a digital health engagement platform.

smartwatch-wearable-technologyThe pilot will enable PartnerRe to gather real-time health and wellness data in order to provide its life and health clients with insights into using wearables to more accurately underwrite risks and engage with customers.

As part of the project, PartnerRe has deployed employees across its Paris and Zurich locations to participate in a six-month scheme to assess the efficacy of wearables in changing behaviours related to health.

Participants will be able to actively manage their health via the dacadoo platform, which combines motivational techniques based on behavioural science with gamification and social networking.

“We are excited about this pilot with dacadoo which offers the dual benefit of promoting greater health and wellbeing within our organization while providing us with valuable learnings about wearables technology,” said Marc Archambault, CEO of Life & Health at PartnerRe.

“Combining this with our advanced data analytics capability will enable us to share insights with our life and health clients, who are keen to use wearables data to design and customize products based on the risk exposures of their customers,” he added.
