Bermuda-based reinsurer PartnerRe has announced the appointment of Jeffrey Ryan as Head of Financial Risks, effective May 1st, 2020.
In his new role, Ryan takes responsibility for the leadership of the company’s global Financial Risks team and portfolio. He will be based in the firm’s Stamford office, and will report to Greg Haft, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Specialty Lines.
He brings almost 30 years of experience in financial risks reinsurance to the role, having spent most of his career in credit & bond, mortgage, and other financial risks underwriting and leadership roles.
Most recently, he served as Head of Credit, Bond and Mortgage at AXIS Re, the reinsurance arm of AXIS Capital Holdings.
Commenting on Ryan’s appointment, Haft said: “I am pleased to have an individual of Jeff’s caliber join the PartnerRe team. He has a strong background in Surety and Mortgage and is well respected by clients around the globe.
