Bermuda-headquartered reinsurance firm PartnerRe has said that William Strasser has been appointed as its new Head of Aviation.
Strasser succeeds Benjamin Weber who is retiring in early 2024 after a 25 year career with PartnerRe.
“William has held multiple senior positions since joining PartnerRe in 2003 and has consistently demonstrated strong initiative and an effective, solution-oriented approach, which will serve both PartnerRe and our customers well,” Philippe Meyenhofer, CEO Specialty Lines, said.
Strasser held various senior roles in PartnerRe including Head of Specialty Property, Engineering & Downstream Energy Treaty, EMEA P&C – Deputy CUO Property, Specialty Lines – Head of Multiline, P&C Head of Northern and Eastern Europe, among others.
“The PartnerRe team would like to thank Beni (Benjamin Weber) for his immense contribution to the Company and wish him well in his retirement,” the company said.
Weber had worked at PartnerRe since 1999 and was previously an aviation underwriter at AXA Winterthur.
