Paul Brand, who founded specialty insurer and reinsurer Convex Group Limited in 2019 with Stephen Catlin, has been named Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, effective July 1st, 2022.
Since the firm was created Brand has served as Deputy CEO, with Catlin serving as both Group CEO and Executive Chairman.
Now, as planned, the re/insurer has handed the CEO role to Brand, with Catlin set to remain as Executive Chairman of Convex.
Commenting, Catlin said: “I am truly delighted that Paul has been appointed CEO by the board. When we launched Convex in 2019, the plan was that Paul would become CEO in due course and his appointment has been fully endorsed by our shareholders.
“He has led the team which has built Convex into a superb business with a strong competitive advantage and hard to replicate intellectual property. This promotion is very well deserved.”
