Hong Kong-domiciled global reinsurer Peak Re has appointed Nattakorn Wattanaumphaipong as the Global Head of Distribution and Partnerships.
Wattanaumphaipong brings over two decades of industry experience, having held senior leadership roles in management, reinsurance underwriting, and business development across Asia Pacific.
Most recently, he served at the Great American Insurance Group as the Head of Technical and Specialty Underwriting.
In the role, his remit included technical underwriting and portfolio management, executing underwriting strategies that support the Singapore Branch’s business expansion plan.
Prior to this, he served at Canopius Group in Singapore for over six years as the Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer for Asia Pacific and as the Head of Property and Casualty (P&C) Reinsurance, Asia Pacific, before that.
Earlier in his career, Wattanaumphaipong spent over eight years with industry giant Swiss Re. He held the positions of Head of Property Underwriting for Asia based in Singapore, and Head of P&C China based in Beijing.
His early roles with Swiss Re included serving as the Head of Agriculture Underwriting for Asia and as Senior Property Underwriter based in Sydney.
