Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited has announced the appointment of Peter Clarke as its new Vice President (VP) and Chief Operating Officer (CFO), reporting to Fairfax President, Paul Rivett.
Clarke has been with the Canadian property and casualty (P&C) insurance and reinsurance investment management firm for more than two decades, and most recently served as VP and Chief Risk Officer (CRO), having previously served as Chief Actuary.
Fairfax Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Prem Watsa, said: “Peter has done an outstanding job for Fairfax in all his numerous roles over the past two decades.
“As COO, he will report to Paul Rivett, our President, and will work closely with Andy Barnard, who oversees Fairfax’s insurance and reinsurance operations as President of Fairfax Insurance Group.”
