The reinsurance division of Everest Group, Everest Reinsurance, has established a dedicated Global Specialties business, bringing the division’s expertise and offerings across Aviation, Marine, Cyber, Engineering, and Parametric Solutions under the leadership of Phil Taylor, who has been appointed Head of Global Specialties.

In his new role, Taylor will report to Jill Beggs, Head of North America and Global Specialty Reinsurance.

A well-known figure across the sector, Taylor has more than 25 years of experience across specialty business lines.

Prior to his position as Global Head of Aerospace for Everest Reinsurance, he managed sizable Aviation portfolios, most recently at Liberty Specialty Markets.

In addition, Taylor has also previously served in various roles for major firms, including a tenure at AXIS Re, where he served as Deputy Unit Head.

He also previously spent more than a decade at global re/insurance broker, Aon, where he most recently served as a Specialty Lines Broker.

“Since joining Everest, Phil has transformed our aviation portfolio into the market-leading practice it is today. I’m confident his strong leadership skills and global specialty expertise will elevate our position across all specialty lines,” said Beggs.

“Phil is the definition of a high performing leader and I look forward to working with him and the team as we continue evolving our business to align with clients’ and brokers’ needs and deliver the exceptional service and value they deserve.”

Jim Williamson, Group Chief Operating Officer and Head of Reinsurance, commented on the Global Specialties Business: “We have combined our best-in-class talent, expertise and a focused global approach to provide the market with protection to thrive in the face of rapidly emerging risks from cyber threats to climate-driven weather disasters.

“Everest’s Global Specialties Business is an investment in the needs of the specialty market that deepens our capabilities and further diversifies our global portfolio.”
