Pinpoint UK Solutions Ltd, part of AM Specialty Insurance Group (ASIG), has received authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to operate as a directly authorised company in the UK market.

The approval also strengthens ASIG’s platform and reflects its continued investment in building a well-governed insurance business across key markets.

With Pinpoint UK operating as a directly authorised firm, AM Specialty is positioned to support a broader range of opportunities while maintaining its focus on underwriting discipline, sustainable growth, and long-term partnerships.

The authorisation follows Pinpoint UK’s Lloyd’s coverholder approval in early 2026,

It’s also expected to support the development of Pinpoint UK’s business lines, including UK Enterprises, led by Joe Harding, focused on building scalable specialty insurance solutions and strengthening broker and client relationships across the UK market.

Darren Powell, Chief Executive Officer, ASIC UK, commented, “Receiving FCA authorisation is a significant step forward for Pinpoint UK. It provides the foundation for us to further develop our UK platform, strengthen our market presence, and continue delivering thoughtful, focused solutions to our partners.

“We are excited about the opportunity ahead and remain committed to building the business with discipline, technical expertise, and long-term partnership at its core.”

Established in 2024, Pinpoint UK provides tailored insurance solutions for non-catastrophe specialty risks through technical underwriting expertise, strong market relationships, and a disciplined approach to programme development.

Since its inception, the MGA has operated under the regulatory guidance of Resolution Underwriting, and this development represents a significant step in its transition to becoming a directly authorised firm.
