POP Holdings launches M&A marketplace in Australia

POP Holdings has launched io.insurer, an online mergers and acquisitions marketplace for SME transactions, in Australia.

Australia flag mapThe service, which is designed to bridge the significant risk protection gap in the niche M&A segment for SMEs, will launch around the world at a later date, following an initial rollout in Australia.

The service will provide insurance solutions for transactions worth up to AUD $50m, with the aim to move to larger transactions at an undsclosed point. Following the launch in Australia, io.insure will expand to North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia.

The io.insure platform was created by the POP Holdings group, a conglomerate for specialist, data & technology-enabled insurance solutions. That group works with insurers including Allianz, Markel, Zurich, HDI Global Specialty, Antares, and Ping An.

Killian McDermott, co-founder and executive partner at io.insure, said: “We are delighted to launch the world’s first online M&A insurance marketplace, serving a fast-growing segment of small and medium business owners in Australia and safeguarding their growth ambitions and exit strategies.”

According to io.insure’s website, the organisation and its insurers currently serve fifteen markets from seven hubs across five continents.
