Placing Platform Limited (PPL), a London-based company providing digital trading solutions for the insurance sector, has released an updated version of its trading console, developed in partnership with Microsoft.
The new console, embedded within Microsoft Outlook and Teams, is intended by PPL to serve as a central workspace for managing placements. The company positions it as a primary channel for delivering future enhancements, including expanded functionality, improved connectivity and additional services, as digital trading adoption increases across the market.
PPL states that the console introduces tools designed to support more effective planning and quicker responses. With integrated management information indicators and prioritised task lists linked directly to the placing platform, the system aims to help users, teams and managers operate with greater clarity and efficiency.
As part of the release, PPL has incorporated two AI-driven trade assistants to address operational challenges within insurance workflows. The Placement Creation assistant links Outlook and Teams with the placement process, automatically extracting key data fields from Word and PDF contract documents. This enables users to create placement records and upload supporting files without manual re-entry, with PPL estimating a potential reduction in processing time of up to 80 per cent for this step.
PPL has also introduced an MRC Document Comparison assistant, which uses a proprietary AI model trained on MRC documentation. This tool allows users to compare documents quickly, offering a contextual summary of key differences alongside a complete audit trail and a side-by-side visual comparison. According to PPL, this functionality is designed to streamline document review and allow greater focus on negotiation.
Tanya Duckworth, Chief Product Officer at Placing Platform Limited, said: “This latest release marks another step forward in how we enable digital trading through the PPL platform. Developed in close partnership with our clients, these new capabilities are designed to deliver a more seamless, intuitive experience within the Microsoft tools the market already relies on.
“Importantly, this is just the beginning. We are building a connected ecosystem that will unlock access to richer market intelligence and introduce AI-powered assistants tailored to the needs of our market. All designed to help our clients to act faster, with greater precision and confidence. There is much more to come.”
