International business insurer QBE has announced the appointment of Chris Reidy as Head of Core Claims and James Villiers as Head of Complex Claims for European Operations.
Reidy, who is succeeding Scott Jacobs, has been with QBE for close to two decades, most recently serving as Complex Property, Casualty, Motor and Health Claims Manager.
Jacobs was appointed Head of Claims Transformation, and has been tasked with leading the modernisation and change initiatives across Claims, looking at the best use of AI, automation, and global transformation.
Villiers brings to his new role 20 years of expertise in Complex Claims, having held the role of Complex Marine and Energy Claims Manager for the past seven years.
He is taking over the Head of Complex Claims for European Operations role from Fiona Sperry, who is retiring.
Reidy, Villiers, and Jacobs will report into Mike East, Claims Director for QBE’s European Operations, who commented: “I am delighted to have hired from within for these appointments, which is a testament to the excellent pipeline of talent at QBE. I’m confident both Chris and James will help us continue to provide customers with an exceptional claims service.
“I am pleased that Scott will be taking on the role of Head of Claims Transformation after being heavily involved in successful modernisation initiatives that put our customers at the heart of our claims offering. Creating this role shows our commitment to new ways of working and technology and improving our service. I’d also like to wish Fiona all the best in her retirement.”
