Australian insurer QBE has announced the appointment of Claire Lill as Portfolio Manager to lead and strengthen the firm’s US Casualty offering.
Lill brings to her new role over three decades of London Market Casualty experience and is joining QBE’s International Markets division from Apollo Syndicate 1969, where she held the role of Executive Underwriter US Casualty.
Prior to Apollo, the executive spent four years as a Marketing Officer for the Argo Group International Holdings following her close to eight years as a Senior underwriter at Liberty International Underwriters.
Before Liberty, Lill spent over 12 years with Zurich Insurance Company, where she worked as a Senior Underwriter US Casualty.
Lavinia Johnson, Director of International and US Casualty, QBE Europe said: “We are delighted to welcome Claire to lead our US Casualty portfolio.
“We are committed to bringing market-leading talent such as Claire to QBE, and very much looking forward to drawing on her extensive knowledge and insights as we continue to expand our Casualty team and offerings.”
Lill’s is one of QBE’s most recent hires, which comes shortly after the appointment of Jamie Kelly as Group Chief Compliance Officer, following Ed Rainsford’s recent transition to the role of Chief Risk Officer, AUSPAC.
