Australian insurer QBE has appointed Ashley Irwin as a Senior Vice President (SVP) and Underwriting Leader for excess and surplus (E&S) Property in North America.
This appointment follows the recent hire of Claire Lill as Portfolio Manager to lead and strengthen the firm’s US Casualty offering.
Irwin brings a wealth of experience and expertise to QBE’s commercial team. The insurer stated that her appointment would play a pivotal role in driving its strategic goals forward.
In the new role, she is responsible for developing and growing the insurer’s new E&S Property business.
Most recently, Irwin has served as the Northeast Regional Leader for Beazley for over five years.
QBE has also recently announced that it secured a class 4 license in Bermuda, providing the reinsurance arm, QBE Re, with further optionality in the balance sheets it offers its cedants.
