Rachael Dugan joins Cover Whale as General Counsel & Corporate Secretary

Insurtech, Cover Whale Insurance Solutions, Inc., has hired Rachael Dugan as the company’s first General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, where she will report directly to Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dan Abrahamsen.

cover-whale-logoIn the role, she is expected to lead all legal, compliance, corporate governance and regulatory affairs matters for the company.

In addition, Dugan will also be a member of Cover Whale’s executive team, where she will serve as a key advisor on all legal and strategic initiatives to promote the firm’s continued growth and expansion.

Overall, she brings a deep degree of expertise towards her new role, having previously served in a variety of leadership roles across the insurance private capital sectors.

In her most recent role, she served as General Counsel & Corporate Secretary of Indigo Technologies Holdings LLC, an insurtech platform in the medical professional liability space.

She also previously held the role of Chief Legal Officer at SiriusPoint.

Before that, Dugan served as General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer of Reverence Capital Partners LLC, as well as Chief Strategy & M&A Counsel at Marsh McLennan.

Cover Whale recently announced a $27.5 million funding boost in debt and equity from investment funds managed by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital.
