Relm Insurance, a specialist insurer serving emerging industries, has appointed Ankur Pandya as Senior Vice President – Financial Lines and Cyber as the company continues to develop its presence in the US market.

Based in New York, Pandya will report to Shane Doyle, Relm’s Chief Underwriting Officer. In his new position, Pandya will be responsible for supporting the development of Relm’s financial lines and cyber portfolios, with an emphasis on underwriting standards, portfolio management and sustainable profitability.

Pandya joins Relm with more than two decades of experience in financial lines, including extensive work with financial institution clients. His career has included senior underwriting and leadership positions at Chubb, where he spent 10 years working with underwriting teams, managing complex portfolios and developing relationships with brokers and clients.

Before Chubb, Pandya spent a further 10 years at Travelers, working across underwriting and distribution. Relm said his background across both areas will contribute to its efforts to expand its US operations and develop its financial lines and cyber business.

In his role at Relm, Pandya will work across portfolio management, underwriting discipline and team development, while also maintaining relationships with brokers and clients. The company said his appointment forms part of its plans to build on its existing US capabilities as it enters its next stage of growth.

“What attracted me to Relm was the combination of strong underwriting fundamentals and an entrepreneurial approach to evolving risks,” added Pandya. “There’s already a strong foundation in the US, and I see a real opportunity to build on that. For me, success means growing these portfolios profitably over the long term, bringing discipline to how we manage the business, and building a team that works hard, enjoys working together, and has strong relationships with brokers and clients.”

Pandya’s experience includes working with complex financial lines portfolios across different market conditions. Doyle said his combination of underwriting experience and industry relationships would support the company’s plans for its financial lines and cyber operations.

“Ankur has spent more than two decades in financial lines and understands what it takes to manage complex portfolios through different market conditions,” commented Shane Doyle, Relm’s Chief Underwriting Officer. “He combines disciplined underwriting with a strong commercial mindset and longstanding relationships across the US market. We have ambitious plans for the business, and Ankur brings the leadership and experience needed to help us achieve them.”
