RenaissanceRe has announced the promotions of several members of its underwriting leadership team, with new roles for Justin O’Keefe, Brian Dalton, Cathal Carr, Marc Amen, and Fiona Walden.
In the main, Justin O’Keefe has been named Chief Underwriting Officer – North America and Bermuda, while Bryan Dalton takes on the role of Chief Underwriting Officer – Property.
O’Keefe, who was previously the Chief Underwriting Officer for the global property segment at RenRe, now holds the responsibility for underwriting oversight of operations in the key markets for the reinsurer.
Dalton, who was previously an active underwriter for RenRe’s syndicate at Lloyd’s, and then the reinsurance firm’s CYO for Europe, takes the position O’Keefe vacates.
Further, Cathal Carr steps into the position of Chief Underwriting Officer – Europe, in addition to his role as Global Head – Climate and Sustainability Underwriting Strategy.
Fiona Walden, who was Global Head of Credit at RenRe, has now been promoted to Chief Underwriting Officer – Casualty & Specialty.
Marc Amen, who has been with the firm since 2013, has been named President – Renaissance Reinsurance US, which is also an additional role to his current position as Global Head – Casualty Reinsurance.
Group Chief Underwriting Officer, David Marra, who was appointed to the role in November last year, commented, “Over the last several years RenaissanceRe has expanded and diversified across clients, lines of business and geographies.
“In their new roles, these executives will work as a team to coordinate our underwriting strategy and execution across risk classes and regions to best meet our customers’ needs.”
