RenRe promotes Shannon Lowry Bender to Governance Committee

Global reinsurer RenaissanceRe (RenRe) has announced that Group General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Shannon Lowry Bender has been appointed to the company’s Governance Committee.

RenaissanceRe logoThe Governance Committee is the most senior management team at RenRe, and it is responsible for governance and strategy of the company.

Shannon joined RenRe in January 2021 in the company’s Bermuda headquarters.

Serving as Group General Counsel, she has oversight of legal, regulatory and compliance matters within the company.

Prior to RenRe, Shannon spent over six years at CIT, a division of First Citizens Bank, where she served as Deputy Corporate Secretary and SVP, Chief Corporate Counsel.

In addition, Shannon has also been a partner for Fried Frank & O’Melveny & Myers LLP.

President and Chief Executive Officer of RenaissanceRe, Kevin J. O’Donnell, said: “Shannon has been an excellent addition to our senior leadership team.
