Independent insurance and reinsurance broker RFIB Group Limited (RFIB) has announced that its holding company, TopCo, has established a new MGA, called Limehouse Agencies (Limehouse).
In addition to the launch RFIB has revealed that Jack Gressier has been named as a Non-Executive Independent Director of TopCo, and also appointed as the founding Non-Executive Chairman of Limehouse.
“The traditional insurance model, on which the large brokers and carriers were built, is being transformed. The arrival of new, non-traditional capital in conjunction with new and advanced disruptive technology has created a new paradigm in risk transfer,” said Gressier.
“Limehouse has been established to be at the forefront of this development. As founding Non-Executive Chairman of Limehouse I will shortly be announcing the appointment of a world class Chief Executive Officer to lead Limehouse Agencies,” he continued.
The new MGA is a subsidiary of TopCo, and has been launched with the goal of establishing a world class underwriting platform focused on its clients and markets, buyers and sellers in an efficient and effective manner, explains RFIB.
Gressier has been in the industry for more than three decades, beginning his career at Lloyd’s in 1986. He has held underwriting positions as well as executive management roles, which includes being Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Axis Capital and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Axis Insurance. Experience that RFIB says makes him “uniquely qualified to create a start-up business in MGA and alternative markets space.”
Gressier will report to Mark Winlow, Independent Chairman of TopCo.
