Risk Strategies, an international specialty insurance brokerage and risk management firm, has announced its acquisition of Silveus Insurance Group (Silveus), the largest independent crop insurance broker in the United States.

risk-strategies-logoSilveus is widely known for its expertise in both federal and private insurance products for growers, helping them minimise their risk exposure.

Silveus offers additional services and tools, including proprietary technology, to assist clients in understanding and reducing their risks. Its software enables effective management of various agricultural risks. Using in-house technology, Silveus employs a customisable matrix of client data, coverages, and mitigation strategies, presenting clear grids to aid farm owners in implementing successful risk management plans.

John Mina, Global CEO of Accession Risk Management Group, the parent company of Risk Strategies and One80 Intermediaries, highlighted, “Agriculture is one of the five strategic specialties that we had identified for long term growth.”

Mina continued, “I’m pleased that we were able to launch this new industry vertical with a proven performer in Silveus.”

He added, “We saw in Silveus not just a proven, market-leading specialist, but an organisation that would be a great fit with the Risk Strategies family. We are thrilled to have them aboard and excited by the possibilities.”

Scott Silveus, President & CEO of Silveus Insurance Group, commented, “We’re specialists in a nationwide market. Becoming part of a larger company with a similar specialty approach made a lot of sense.”

“As part of Risk Strategies, we can retain our focus while adding expert capabilities that address our clients’ overall risk and liability exposures,” Silveus concluded.
