RiverStone International, the largest provider of legacy solutions in Lloyd’s market, has announced the appointments of Heather Thomas and Jose Vazquez as independent Non-Executive Directors of its UK subsidiaries RiverStone Insurance UK Limited and Riverstone Managing Agency Limited.
Luke Tanzer, the Chief Executive Officer of RiverStone International said, “We are delighted to have Heather and Jose join our UK boards. They are both highly experienced non-executive directors and their advisory capabilities will prove invaluable to RiverStone International as we continue to build on our leading position within the global legacy market.”
Thomas is a market veteran who brings more than 20 years of executive board-level experience to her role that gained in the financial services and insurance sectors.
Currently, Thomas serves as the Non-Executive Director of IQUW Syndicate Management.
Prior to this, she was a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the risk management committee and member of the audit committee at CNA Insurance and Hardy Underwriting.
Vazquez is another market veteran and has more than two decades of experience in the insurance sector, including 10 years as Chief Risk Officer at Direct Line Group.
Prior to this, Vazquez held a variety of roles in the insurance industry including at HSBC Group and Zurich Insurance Group.
Vazquez is also a Non-Executive Director at Allianz Holdings.
RiverStone International is an acquirer and reinsurer of legacy and discontinued insurance businesses.
Operating in the UK company and Lloyd’s of London markets, Bermuda, and Europe it has transacted a wide variety of deals, from insurance and reinsurance portfolio transfers to company purchases, acquiring over $14.1 billion of liabilities since 2010 and with around $7 billion of liabilities currently under management.
