RLI names two new leaders

US property and casualty insurer RLI Corp. has appointed two leaders to new roles.

RLI Corporation logoThe company has announced that Donald Johnson has been promoted to Vice President, RLI Professional Services Group, and that Bret Stone has joined the company as Vice President, Data & Analytics.

In his new role, Johnson will have executive leadership and oversight responsibility for the Professional Services Group Casualty, Captives and Specialty Package products.

He has over 34 years of insurance industry experience, and also holds a Casualty Claim Law designation from the AEI Society of Claim Law Associates.

Johnson first joined RLI in 2010, where he served as Assistant Vice President, Professional Services Group. Prior to RLI, he served in various leadership roles at Travelers and St. Paul Companies.

Craig Kliethermes, RLI President & CEO, said: “Don has demonstrated a strong track record of success during his tenure at RLI. His deep industry and product knowledge, and strong leadership, will support the continued growth and success of the RLI Professional Services Group.”

Furthermore, within his new role, Stone will lead the use of advanced data and analytics within RLI’s underwriting, claims and business operations.

In addition, Stone has more than 23 years of experience within the insurance and financial industry. He joins RLI from SpatialKey, (acquired by Insurity in 2018) where he served as President & COO. Stone also previously served in leadership roles at Insurity and RMS.
