International catastrophe risk modeller, RMS, has named Pete Dailey Vice President (VP), to oversee the impending launch of the company’s U.S. Inland Flood Model, which is scheduled for spring 2018.
Dailey brings more than 15 years of industry experience to the role, and will lead flood model development in RMS’ California headquarters, as well as the development of future innovative modelling tools.
“Pete brings a deep understanding and expertise of natural catastrophes to the model management team. As the leader of our highly anticipated U.S. Inland Flood Model, his knowledge of this peril, and the risk management challenges it presents to the insurance industry will be central to informing the implementation and technical understanding of our clients,” said RMS’ Head of catastrophe models, Peter Ulrich.
Dailey joins RMS from Urban Enterprise Partners Inc., a company he founded that offered insurance, reinsurance and NGO clients custom modelling solutions.
Prior to this, Dailey was Senior Vice President (SVP) at Verisk Climate and VP AIR Worldwide.
Commenting on his new role, Dailey said; “RMS is known as a leading catastrophe modeler and analytics firm for good reason. The team is rich in skill and experience, and the models and software solutions are first-in-class. Next year’s launch of the U.S. Inland Flood Model signals the single largest model development project in the more than 25-year history of RMS.
“I’m thrilled to join the model product management team, and I look forward to contributing to the development of the company’s innovative risk management tools and bringing the new U.S. flood model to market.”
