Lions Gate Underwriting (LGU), an independent underwriting agency and Lloyd’s coverholder, has announced the appointment of Robbin Botnick as managing director and head of corporate development.
A highly respected insurance executive, Botnick brings more than 25 years of experience to the role. Based in Toronto, she will report to Brian Gomes, president of LGU Canada.
Commenting on Botnick’s appointment, Gomes said: “LGU has experienced significant growth in recent years and has ambitious plans moving forward. The team is thrilled to welcome Robbin as we continue to scale the business.”
Botnick joins LGU from Excess Underwriting where she was chief operating officer. Prior to that, she was Managing Director at Linx Underwriting Solutions, a subsidiary of Aon Canada.
In her previous roles, she has successfully grown both broker-owned in-house insurance MGAs and private MGAs, specialising in commercial and personal lines of business, into profitable organisations with efficient operations.
