Non-life specialty insurance firm R&Q Insurance Holdings has confirmed that co-founder Alan Quilter retired and stood down from its Board of Directors on 31 December 2023.
Back in March of 2023, R&Q revealed that Quilter, then Group Head of Program Management, would retire from R&Q and the Board of Directors at the end of the year, naming Jeffrey Hayman as its new Non-Executive Chairman, with William Spiegel assuming the role of Group Chief Executive Officer.
Hayman, now Chairman of R&Q, commented, “On behalf of the Board, and everyone at R&Q, I want to thank Alan for everything he has contributed.
“It is over 30 years since Alan co-founded R&Q and he has been instrumental in the Group’s history. During his tenure at R&Q, Alan has held a range of roles, including CFO and CEO. More recently, he has been central in the successful growth of Accredited as it developed into a leading global program manager.
“I also know that many past and present employees have benefited from Alan’s mentorship and collaborative leadership style. We wish him the very best in his well-deserved retirement.”
Quilter is reportedly set to stay on at R&Q in an advisory capacity for some time.
