Global insurer RSA Insurance has appointed Linda Deans as a Senior Specialist Underwriter for US & International Property in its UK Specialty Lines business.
Deans will assume the role in January and report to Jonathan Sigwart, Underwriting Leader of Wholesale International Property, UK Specialty Lines, at RSA Insurance.
Sigwart, commented on the appointment, “There is a lack of capacity in the wholesale property market driven by heightened natural catastrophe losses and increased (re)insurer costs meaning a lot of business is coming to London. At RSA, we understand the market challenges but also see an opportunity to support clients and brokers while growing the book in a controlled and sustainable manner.”
Deans’ role will be based in London, and her remit will include being responsible for the growth of RSA’s US and International wholesale property book.
Deans is an experienced underwriter with more than 20 years in the industry. Prior to this, she served at CNA Hardy as a Property Underwriter since 2010.
Sigwart continued, “We’re really pleased Linda has decided to join RSA and our UK Specialty business. Not only is she experienced and well respected, it’s also a competitive jobs market and getting the best people on board isn’t easy. Linda joining the team will help us to offer an even more comprehensive service to both brokers and clients.”
